5 rounds for time of:

5 Handstand Push Ups

10 Burpees

40 Double Unders

  8. Jackie has modified this for me already gang…but for real I think my arms might fall off if I do 4:1 regular push-ups vs. handstand ones..but God knows there is no way for me to do a handstand push up now..get real

  9. All this is just my opinion, Sara – Kyle may tell me I’m wrong – but to me you do what you can (and what pushes you). If 4:1 is too much, then scale it to 3:1. Or, if you’re working on converting from knee pushups to full pushups, maybe a 1:1 ratio is enough because that level of difficulty at the full pushup level is hard enough for you — right now, that’s your equivalent of the handstand pushup. So, don’t stress out over not being able to do as Rx’d (I have to fight that same thing) and just do work.

  10. sara, what donna said is what i meant by “scale to your ability”. do what you can. if it’s too much, stop. i would even recommend cutting it back to two or three rounds.

    The main thing is that you work hard. I agree that 4:1 may be too much. If it needs to be 2:1 then that is what it needs to be. When I scale a WOD for someone it is always most difficult to find a balance between hard enough to be beneficial and over kill. Do what you can and do more next time. As long as you are doing something you are good.

  18. Everyone..thank you all so much for the advice, and support.
    I am doing what I can right now, and hopefully when I arrive at crossfit, I will be a little bit stronger than I was a my my baseline!
    I am pushing myself, especially since most of these things are workouts I haven’t done in forever.
    Taking off now on vacation, but the good news is I’m taking my body with me so I can still do some workouts while gone..
