  1. It has been a really long time since I have done a burpee and I must say that I have not missed the 😉

  2. Casey, burpees have missed you. They wish the feeling was mutual, but they understand.
    Also, the sub for hspu will be 3:1 box or regular. If you are inverted on the wall with an abmat it is a scale but it is 1:1. Head to ground = RX

    Kyle, I’ve seen people do kipping HSPUs. Do you recommend or teach that?

  4. I am not a fan of kipping HSPU. Particularly for people who don’t have HSPU. They end up being pretty hard on the neck.

  5. What if we semi-invert on the wall and make microscopically-small up and down movements?

  8. Being a middle school teacher, I hear a lot of “what if questions”. Yours is one of the better presentations that I have seen. However, the answer is still no way. I call a 2 abmat limit. Three abmats and your head is almost touching before you start. Of all the things we do the Pull up and even more so the HSPU are the most elusive. I great way to parctice is just getting up in a hand stand and holding it for intervals. As long as you make HSPU a goal and work towards it you will get them.

    For those of you pet owners out there, I recommend putting your dog in another room as you practice your hand stands. My pup always takes that opportunity to get right up in my face, then I come tumbling down and nothing gets accomplished except laughter and new bruises. :o)
