- CrossFit Level 1
Before I began CrossFit I was a long time Globo gym guy. I would take my pre-workout drink, cue up a good playlist, put on my sweetest tank top and head to the gym. I would spend hours in the gym doing leg extensions, calf raises, dumbbell curls and you name it without seeing many results. Afterwards I would take a ton of supplements that I read about in a bodybuilding magazine or something. The problem though was I felt like I was strong, but I did not feel fit or athletic. It wasn’t working for me. I needed to completely change my fitness. I had been resistant to try out CrossFit for a variety of reasons. I didn’t think I would be able to attend a class at a specific time consistently. I had never worked out with a group of people since high school baseball days. I also did not want to be embarrassed if I couldn’t perform the movements. I decided to give CFR a shot in April of 2015. It was safe to say I was humbled; I didn’t even finish the workout. It scared me away for a little bit but after a while I realized it was the best workout I had ever had. I knew the programming worked and I bought in.
Over the years at CrossFit Rebellion I not only have become more fit, but I’ve learned how to have a healthier lifestyle. I’ve learned so much about nutrition and performance at CFR. I’ve also made some great friends. It’s been awesome to meet so many people I wouldn’t have had a chance to be around if not for CFR.
Crossfit will be something I do for the rest of my life hopefully. My goal is to one day even get my wife, Campbell, and my kids, Camilla and Ben, to do it with me at CFR.
